Speed Awareness Workshop Presentation FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

When do the courses run?
Two courses are run every day from Monday to Friday, from each workshop. The times of these are:

Occasionally an evening or a Saturday workshop may be held and you may be offered this as an alternative to normal courses.

What are the parking facilities?
Please note that there is limited car parking available at our venue. You may prefer to find alternative parking nearby or preferably make alternative travel arrangements.

Can I change my course date?
Course dates can only be changed in exceptional circumstances. Evidence will be required in certain situations. If you are offered a new date no further dates will be offered thereafter.

What happens if I arrive late?
You must arrive on time for your course. Late arrivals may be refused entry and, unless under exceptional circumstances, will have their files returned to Leicestershire Constabulary and offer of a Speed Awareness Workshop withdrawn.

What happens if I leave early?
You are required to attend the full three hour course. Failure to do so will result in your file being returned to Leicestershire Constabulary and offer of a Speed Awareness Workshop withdrawn.

What happens if I do not attend?
If you do not attend the course, and fail to provide evidence of exceptional circumstances, your file will be returned to Leicestershire Constabulary.

Can I pay by instalments?
The course fee is a set amount and cannot be reduced or paid in installments.

I don't live in Leicester; can I attend elsewhere?
Providing your chosen area caters fully for your needs, it may be possible to transfer your workshop to another area. For details of course venues, please visit driver-improvement.co.uk

Can I attend voluntarily?
At this time courses are only offered on a referral basis from Leicestershire Constabulary.

Do I need to inform the police I have attended?
No, the Speed Awareness administration team will notify Leicestershire Constabulary of your attendance on the course.

I have special needs, can these be accommodated?
We can cater for most situations. Please answer the relevant questions on the booking form, or ring our office to discuss your needs.
